Pictures and a short update

So we finally got our proofs back and they are adorable.  So many family members say Grace looks just like me!  It is kinda crazy but she does!  Chloe was such a model she even in one picture she is sticking out her bottom and had her hands on her hips.  Not sure who she gets that from!  I am so excited to order but think that it will be so difficult.  Anyways, enough about pictures, a little about what is happening in our neck of the woods!
Dave is having his staff appreciation at work and worked very hard on the slide show and I was pretty impressed with what a great job he did!  I usually don't get to see what he does except for hear about it so seeing the pictures really helped give me an idea.  I think that both he and I are ready for a little break from work, and will soon get it when we visit his family this weekend for his Thanksgiving family dinner.  It will be nice to be away but will definitely just like sometime at home not doing anything (those are his words more than mine).
Grace is loving preschool.  I think she is becoming more of a drama queen day by day.  She has a friend who she just adores and talks about all the time.  She even makes her pictures and gets pictures from her.  She came home on Monday and was very upset because she wasn't able to play with her.  She said this was because "she got a new best friend, a boy."  Of course the mommy in me and teacher in me asked if she did something to her.  She said she didn't, and then Dave and I had to go into a long list of how she can have more than one friend.  She did tell me though the boy told her she couldn't play because there wasn't enough room.  Which makes me sad for her but she makes me laugh because today I came home and asked her if she had a good day.  Grace's response: "yes mom!  ___'s friend was gone today so I got her all to myself!"  Yes as you can see Grace obviously didn't get that she can play with more than one friend and didn't even get our talk!  Oh my what will the high school days bring us!!!!
Chloe well Chloe what should I tell.  She is definitely getting this talking thing down.  Her new favorite phrase: "O Hey!  I can do it!"  "O Hey" is actually Okay!  Oh my how many times I hear it!  She is picking up so many things that Grace is doing.  Such as we were working on a letter to Santa and Grace was asking how to spell things (yes and writing them down--she is learning so much), and Chloe of course trying to make the letters too!  She almost has her name, only missing her h and l, definitely has her c o and e which is about the only things she remembers when she is spelling it!  I think she will definitely have it soon!
I have 28 wonderful kids in my class and just found out that I get another student back and will lose one for he is moving away again.  This brings both a bunch of fears and joys.  It is truly a wonder how I make it some days meeting with them and being able to build more of a relationship. I also feel at times I don't get as much as I really want too (one on one time that is) with them.  I thank God I just get to go to work and be able to enjoy something I love.
I have a friend who seemed to drift away and lose touch with me, but has happen to drift back into my life.  However, she was pregnant with twins.  She went into labor at 24 weeks and had them a week ago.  They are doing well but of course any prayers are always needed.  I am shocked at how people come into your life when things are needed, and I can lend a little even if it is a prayer or two. :)
My mom was put into the nursing home about a month ago (after a week in the hospital).  It kills me but the girls more than me to not be able to see her at home.  She however gets to come home next month but holy wow!  Chloe and Grace has to call her every night to say they love her and tell her what she missed at their house (papa and nene's).  She was put in there because she got pneumonia and more water around her heart (her congestive heart failure acting out again).  She is still gaining and losing weight like crazy which is what they are working on managing.  She was currently diagnosed with Parkinson.  It's scary how much you get as age comes upon you.  I am amazed at how well my dad is taking everything and still makes sure to tell my mom to be strong and she'll be home soon.  She does get to come home on her birthday, Thanksgiving, and spend the day at home.  She will be excited to have her surprised birthday party!  Yay!
Wow, feels like I wrote a book!  But as time passes you forget to stop and write it down.  I like to think that it's the little things that happen that makes it a day to smile upon!  I loved to share those little smiles with you today!

Article finding

So one of my friends sent an email with an article.  It was written by one of the old teachers at one of the colleges....think it says in the article which one (believe it's in atchison).  Anyways thought it has some good things in it and was quite interesting.

family picture time finally!

Well, it is that time of year where I finally talked Dave into a family picture. We've had pictures taken but it's been since Chloe was a month old we actually had some taken! Long time huh! Yes! We had to tell Grace she'd get a toy if she would cooperate because for some strange reason she did not want to do it! Not her because much like Chloe she loves the camera and is a diva and will model and pose but not that day! So here is one of the pictures taken! I am really excited about them...hoping we did good on the choice of clothes! I also can't wait to see the others!

June 2011

Well, time has flown by! It's already June and I am enjoying the summer with the girls. School went and ended quickly. I really did enjoy my class and will miss them greatly! I taught summer school with the incoming kindergartners and was awakened with what I will expect next year. It was both scary and exciting! I saw less behavior issues but saw some really have missed out on a lot. I have gotten involved in some of the things they have for parents and kids in preschool in the community such as the kinder club and kindergarten jump start. This really makes me see that I can reach parents in getting them more involved with their child's education. I will be signing up for master classes for the fall! Scared a little because I don't want to get in over my head sort of speak! I hope it will all work out but know it will with God helping me through! I have a Vegas trip planned! I will be attending the Kindergarten teacher conference. I'm excited to meet teachers from other states and just learn some tools to use in the classroom!
Dave has just gone back to work since his gall bladder surgery. He was enjoying time with the girls and I, well at least that is what he said. He seemed to heal up quickly especially since fishing was his coping mechanism! He was trying for a position here in town but was not given it. However this has not slowed him down. he was happy to know he could keep his kids and staff. He really is happy with what he does. He is trying to volunteer for more of the services they do for his kids, which I'm hoping will give him more out there and see how much he does for his kids.
Grace is Grace! She is going to be starting preschool this fall along with some speech services. She omits some of her beginning and end sounds. We've worked a lot on it and she still needs more of a push. She is loving that she is recognizing more of her letters in her name! She will point them out everywhere and loudly may I say! She almost has the letters in order on her own when she writes it....she gets a library card if she can on her own. Excitement for her when she does!
Chloe is a daredevil! She loves to still climb but is finding some fear! She fell at the playground the other day with Dave and realize she has to be more carefully. Boy did she try to tell me the story (still having some speech issues there). She is now fully potty trained and is loving the monkey underwear she has! Everything is green and monkeys with her! Definitely fits her personality!
Well, as you can read; life is definitely moving on and quickly!

February 2011 Update

Well it has been a long time since I've blogged and I thought it was time. A lot has happened since my last one.
Grace:
She is talking and acting like "princess." She loves pink and every
thing to do with princesses, dancing, horses, and girly stuff! She won't be starting school yet but we are preparing too! I'm excited but sad at the same time. It will definitely be weird seeing her in school with me and a couple doors down!
Chloe:

She is so sneaky and smart. She climbs on everything and is so quick about it. I'm surprised she doesn't have more bruises or a broken bone everywhere. She isn't talking as much but is improving. We've had her tested and she isn't able to get any help yet. It's a good thing but disappointing at the same time. We'll just keep doing what we are doing and see where it comes. She is catching on to so many things it is great to see!
Dave:

Where to start? He is doing the same thing and seems to do more. He is loving what he is doing and is seems to be wearing out at times. Certain times of the year it seems to be doing better than others.
Me:
Well the first year of kindergarten started rough but has gotten to be a blessing! My partners are great and my kids are starting to stick to me! I have to say when people say they see them grow right before your eyes I believe them! SO many of them have! I definitely see myself grow old teaching these little guys!
Well that is about it on us! Enjoy the pictures!
